March 1, 2005 Chicken Strata Al A King When I began this web-site two months ago one of the things I looked into was whether or not I would need to ask permission when I used pictures from other’s web-sites. I found a site called LawGuru.com where, as a free service, they answer legal questions. The answer was exactly what I expected: yes, I would have to get permission nearly every time. I thought this would be the most disagreeable part of building this site. Having to send hundreds of emails seeking permission didn’t appeal to me. However, I’ve come to discover this task to be a blessing in disguise. First, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many interesting people from all over the world. Secondly, what I’ve found is that people often begin by saying they are grateful that I would take the time to ask rather than just use their images without permission. Third, the vast majority of those I’ve asked have been more than willing to have me use their photos – many even inquiring if I’d like them to send a better quality image than what’s on their site. This brings me to today’s topic. When I asked American Egg Board for permission to use an image I received a very enthusiastic reply. Linda Braun not only gave me permission to use the image, she also provided more information (on Chicken Strata a la King) and encouraged me to provide a link to the recipe. She’s also proven herself to be quite the cruciverbalist (see the February 23rd posting). See today’s Word of the Day also. Well, the recipe looked pretty good to me, so last night I gave it a try:
